The Gift of Giving: Supporting Seniors This Holiday Season

In honor of National Philanthropy Day, we at United We Age are reminded of the power of generosity and the profound impact it has on the lives of those around us—especially our seniors in Vero Beach, Florida, and North Carolina. This season is a time to come together as a community to share compassion, kindness, and hope with those who need it most.

A Story of Resilience and Kindness

In North Carolina, our dedicated volunteers, led by Robert Paxon, have been working tirelessly to bring joy and support to the senior community. Recently, following the devastating impact of Hurricane Helene, Robert and other compassionate community members stepped in to help a 78-year-old woman clean and restore her pottery shed. Thanks to their efforts, she can continue enjoying the craft that brings her so much happiness.

This act of kindness is just one example of the incredible work that your contributions make possible.

Why Your Donation Matters

Many seniors in our community face challenges such as isolation, financial strain, and limited access to resources. Your support enables United We Age to provide vital programs, activities, and experiences that enrich their lives. From organizing engaging activities like music bingo to donating essential supplies and gifts bags, your contributions ensure that seniors in Vero Beach and North Carolina receive the care and attention they deserve.

Imagine the joy of a senior rediscovering a favorite song during music bingo or the excitement of attending a holiday concert with friends. These moments of connection are transformative, reducing loneliness and fostering a sense of belonging.

This year, with your help, we aim to:

  • Expand our outreach in Vero Beach and North Carolina.

  • Fund holiday celebrations and activities to bring cheer to seniors.

  • Support Robert Paxon’s efforts to organize a concert outing for residents at Springbrook, a care facility for low-income seniors in Clayton, NC.

How You Can Help

Your donation can make these goals a reality. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps us create meaningful experiences for seniors. Here’s how you can help:
